"I had the honor of having Rob as a guest speaker for military resiliency days on two separate occasions. The first event entailed Rob speaking to about 300 Air Force members and the second event entailed Rob speaking to about 100 more members. Rob is an extremely powerful speaker. He has an astute ability to develop rapport quickly and authentically in both one-on-one situations and across large groups of people. Rob arrived to both engagements meticulously prepared and was highly effective in both his time and resource management. He adapted well to changes that were beyond his control and effectively adjusted his presentation time and style. This was undoubtedly due to Rob's focused preparation for each event. He coordinated with our POCs for each event, asked relevant, pointed questions of my team to ensure that he tailored each event to our location, our people and our intended outcome. I have recommended Rob countless times to other organizations as a highly effective speaker as well as an amazing resource for helping people in need."
"Rob has a natural ability to build rapport and trust with people. First, Rob is an outstanding listener, who puts people at ease with his demeanor and truly listens to what is being shared. He asks probing questions in a respectful and sensitive manner while validating people's feelings, thoughts and opinions. These questions help Rob find avenues to help as well as helping the individual to proceed deeper into their thoughts, taking a more in-depth and often more objective look at their scenarios. Second, Rob summarizes what is shared with him before speaking or replying to ensure he fully understands the situation or problem. This makes Rob's guidance effective and pointed, greatly increasing success. Finally, Rob is outstanding at meeting people where they are at in their struggles or recovery. Rob does not judge and Rob does not make people feel less than anyone or anything else. Rob's own personal trauma was derived from combat action. However, he was able to directly relate to people whose trauma came from what some may deem as a less traumatic place. Numerous people expressed that they expected to feel like their trauma was not as severe as Rob's but that he reassured them that all trauma is worthy of respect and care."
"Maj (retired) Robert Scoggins was a Combat Rescue Pilot when he was on Active Duty. He has endured numerous combat deployments in service to our great nation. Even after retirement, he continues to serve in a civilian capacity by dedicating his time to our Airmen and Guardians by telling his story of family, war and his amazing resilience. I have been in the Air Force for 26+ years, and there is nobody I know that is a better presenter."
"I have invited Maj Scoggins to speak on numerous occasions, and he does it out of the goodness of his heart. He always leaves a lasting impact on our Airmen, and continues to be an inspiration to all that have the privilege to cross paths with him. I have watched him interact with all of our Airmen, active duty and civilian. He takes the time to make a personal connection with everyone he talks to, he relates to individuals on a level I have not ever experienced. He has a kind heart and a very real dedication to help people and make a difference. He truly has a gift very few people possess."
